Shalin’s journey in social work is a story of passion, commitment, and impact. Through NSS (National Service Scheme), he was honored with the prestigious National Award by the Hon'ble President of India for being the Best Volunteer of Gujarat, and the State Award by the Hon'ble Education Minister Praful Panseriya. These accolades are a reflection of his dedication to community welfare. With academic credentials in clinical psychology, Shalin has spent the last 6 years of his life nurturing hope and catalyzing change in the community.
His career began as an NSS volunteer from 2019 to 2022. During this phase, he took diverse initiatives and learned the value of service firsthand. Now serving as a Program Officer at Sharda Foundation and as a BSC Youth Volunteer with FPA India, he has led life-changing projects like organizing blood donation camps and providing essential support to the Ahmedabad Police during the COVID crisis. Shalin has also initiated awareness programs on swine flu, cancer, and thalassemia, and notably, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR services).
Celebrating 75 years of Gujarat University, he was honored at ‘Parash Parva’ with the Gaurav Puraskar for being an outstanding NSS volunteer, awarded by Vice Chancellor Dr. Neerja A Gupta. He has also championed campaigns like Vyasan Mukti Abhiyan and Swasta Abhiya, promoted tree plantation, bird safety during Makar Sankranti, and raised organ donation awareness. Additionally, he has provided writer services for blind students during university exams, which underscores his commitment to inclusivity and education.Through every act, Shalin continues to inspire his community to serve with passion, integrity, and compassion.
